Psychologist – BA (Hons) MPsych (Child and Family) MAPS
Jason Ewing is a Registered Psychologist with a Master of Psychology (Child and Family) and over 16 years experience working with children, adolescents, parents, and adults across Melbourne. He has worked in several primary and secondary schools, as well as in private practice, and shares the SW Psychology passion for working with individuals with anxiety disorders.
Jason has extensive knowledge and experience in treating a range of anxiety based conditions, including generalised anxiety, panic attacks, social anxiety, separation anxiety, stress, workplace stress, adjustment, school refusal, night time fears and sleep difficulties, and performance anxiety. He also works with a range of general psychological concerns, including but not limited to, depression, low self-esteem, autism spectrum disorders, social/emotional issues, bullying, family separation, and relationship difficulties.
Jason is a full member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and is an approved Medicare Provider. He brings a friendly, warm and encouraging approach to therapy, and has a particular strength in helping clients feel quickly at ease and comfortable in the counselling room. He works to create a space which is client-centered, collaborative, and respectful, and develops individually tailored treatment plans based on the needs of each client.
Jason utilizes a range of therapeutic styles including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), exposure therapy, humanistic (person-centered) therapy, play and art therapies, mindfulness and brief solution focused therapy. Jason has a strong interest in Neuropsychotherapy, attachment, and the relationship between the brain and mind, and has a special interest in meditation as an effective therapeutic tool for anxiety.
Jason is in the Clinic on Mondays and Thursdays and is not currently available to take new clients.
