Psychologist – BA (Hons) MPsych (Child and Family) MAPS
Jason Ewing is a registered Psychologist who has over 16 years experience working with a diverse range of clients. He completed a Master of Psychology degree in 2002 and is a full member of the Australian Psychological Society. Jason has extensive experience working with children and adolescents and their parents in school-based settings, as well as working with adults in workplace and counselling settings. He has experience working with anxiety (especially social anxiety), depression, low self-esteem, autism, social/emotional issues, bullying and stress management at all stages of life. Jason is also a registered Clinical Supervisor who has trained and mentored intern psychologists in case formulation and working therapeutically with young people.
Jason brings a warm and gentle approach to therapy. He works to create a space which is client-centered, collaborative, and respectful. Jason utilizes a range of therapeutic styles including humanistic (person-centered) therapy, CBT, play and art therapy, mindfulness and brief solution focused approaches where appropriate. Jason has a strong interest in neuropsychology, attachment, and the relationship between the brain and mind. He underpins practical approaches such as psychoeducation and problem solving with an interest in psychodynamic theory and social psychology to help his clients holistically.
Jason is passionate about child and adult psychological growth. Jason has a special interest in meditation as an effective therapeutic tool, especially as applied to anxiety and can offer training in various meditation techniques when appropriate or at a client’s request.
Jason is in the Clinic on Mondays and Thursdays and is available to take new clients.
